The Accidental Prime Minister revolves around Dr Manmohan Singh’s life, the economist and politician who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government. The movie has been mired in controversies ever since the trailer hit the web. Today, the film has been released in Pakistan. Anupam Kher took to Twitter to share the news and wrote, “#TheAccidentalPrimeMinister releases in Pakistan today. Here is the list of theatres. @TAPMofficial.”

The Chief of Pakistan’s Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) Danyal Gilani on Thursday revealed that the film centered around the term served by India’s former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been cleared for release. Anupam Kher, who plays Dr Manmohan Singh in The Accidental Prime Minister, has called it his career’s best performance.
The film’s presenter Pen’s official, Jayantilal Gada said thanks to the Prime Minister it Pakistan Imran Khan for passing the film for release. “PEN Studios is happy to announce that our one-of-a-kind political film, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, has got a green signal from Pakistan. Pakistani movie-goers will be able to enjoy the film. I always admired Imran Khan as a brave cricketer, and now I respect him as a Prime Minister too,” said Jayantilal.
The film also stars Akshaye Khanna as Sanjaya Baru. The social media users and celebrities are appreciating the powerful actor by both Anupam and Akshaye in the film. Anupam has lifted all the mannerisms of the former Prime Minister.
