Bhaag Milkha Bhaag fame Farhan Akhtar seems to have achieved something which no other Bollywood actor has been able to do till date! The actor happily takes part in every social norm. Whether it’s about a political issue, gender equality or #metoo moment.
He is become first male ambassador for UN women. The UN women agency is all about the cause of gender equality.
Not only this, Farhan was one of the first celebrities to react on #metoo. He said “Every time something like this has happened in the public domain, I’ve been very vocal with my opinion.
Now Farhan has taken another turn to support women in his way. He and Abbas khan has released a 3 minute short film called ‘She’. The shot film is all about various forms of violence perpetrated against women.
Farhan shared his perception about his short film, he said –“For women to feel safe in our society, it is important that men change their mentality and behaviour. This short film ‘She’ gives the other perspective – of how ignorant men are about this violence. It is imperative that men understand the humiliation that women go through. Only then will they truly make an effort to change,”
“Though more women are now finding the courage to speak out and report abuse, a large part of society still normalizes such crimes until it reaches the point of really heinous forms of violence. Men need to recognize that the everyday forms of violence and violation faced by women are no less harmful.” Said by PFI Executive Director Poonam Muttreja.
All the initiative by Farhan Akhtar is so inspiring and eye opener thing for the coming generation. We are totally glad by his immense work.
