As we all know, the ongoing Me Too movement has gathered steam in India- a lot of women are coming out in the open, naming and shaming their sexual predators. Post Tanushree Dutta renewed a decade old sexual harassment case against Nana Patekar that took place on the sets of 2008- film Horn Ok Please, a lot of prominent personalities have come under the scanner. From Sajid Khan, Anu Malik, Suhel Seth, Jatin Das, Kailash Kher, Subhash Kapoor and Subhash Ghai, among others, a lot of renowned names have been shamed for their sexual misconduct.

But what is remarkable is that a host of B-town celebs have spoken up against this endemic that has exploded in Bollywood- Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Twinkle Khannna, Arjun Kapoor and Karan Johar among others have extended their solidarity towards the accusers. Now the latest actor to talk about Me Too is Govinda. Nowadays, Govinda is busy promoting his film Rangeela Raja and during the promotions of the film, Govinda broke his silence and discussed the ongoing Me Too movement.

Although Govinda feels that ever since he has left politics, he deliberately stays away from talking about controversial topics but for the Me Too movement, the actor feels that if you have a platform to discuss such issues, then it is not wrong at all. However, Govinda feels people should not misuse this campaign and resort to dirty politics. This Haseena Maan Jaayegi actor said, “After I left politics, I don’t touch controversial things as people should not think that I am joining politics again. I am a very hard and harsh person, I speak what’s there in my heart. But if you have got a platform where you can say the truth then it is not at all wrong. However the sad part is that a platform can be used and misused at the same time.”

On the work front, Govinda was last release in the film FryDay which didn’t perform well at the box office. Next, he will be seen in the film Rangeela Raja which is produced by Former Chairman of CBFC Pahlaj Nihalani.
