After flooring the audiences with his performance as Senapathy in Shankar’s 1996 directorial titled Indian, actor Kamal Haasan is set to return to the silver screen with the sequel Indian 2 this year.
Now, according to a report , ‘Padman‘ actor Akshay Kumar will be playing a negative role in Indian 2. Akshay’s last collaboration with director Shankar was in 2.0 and looks like the duo will come together sooner than later. With fantastic performance and perfect makeup of an old-aged man, Kamal Haasan was bestowed with National Film Award in Best Actor category for Indian in 1996. Now, after two decades, the sequel to the film is set to go on floors on January 18, 2019.
Interestingly, Shankar had initially approached Ajay Devgn for a pivotal role in the movie. Apparently, the Raid actor was offered the part of a cop. “Both, Ajay and Kamal, were keen to collaborate on this film. However, for various reasons, including his prior commitments, Ajay couldn’t come on board,” a source.
Meanwhile, Akshay and Shankar became close while filming 2.0 and wanted to work together in the near future.
