Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role has been in the news since its inception. The film hit headlines for all the wrong reasons. Well, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has seen the light of the day as the film has hit the theatres on January 25. Even after its release, the film is grabbing all the attention for controversial reasons. Manikarnika’s co-director Krish finally opens up about the film, Kangana Ranaut taking over director’s seat and lot more in an interview.
During the same interview, Krish was asked about Kangana Ranaut claiming that she has shot majority of the film. To this, the director had a shocking reaction. He said, “Its Bullsh*t” The director also added that he came to know about the actress directing the film on after Sonu Sood’s exit. He further said, “But for me I was there for 400 days and film was finished, that’s where I got really hurt. And everywhere media persons ask me why did you leave. What is she talking about? We started the film, shot the film, now it’s hurting me actually.”
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, which is played by Kangana Ranaut, the story of the film is about her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Directed by Krish and Kangana Ranaut, written by KV Vijayendra Prasad, the film stars Ankita Lokhande, Danny Dengzongpa, Atul Kulkarni, Suresh Oberoi among others. Reportedly, the film has been leaked online a day after its release.
