Gully Boy’s fever is spreading like wildfire in India with the rap genre gaining immense popularity. Recently, Mere Gully Mein, which is Divine and Naezy’s composition was recreated by Ranveer Singh for Gully Boy. It instantly became a chartbuster.
The original Mere Gully Mein is produced by Sajeel Kapoor aka Sez On The Beat. Sajeel took to Facebook to accuse the makers of non-payment of dues and royalties as promised. “I wasn’t even aware of the fact that the song was going to be used in the movie until a little while ago and when I got to know about it I thought the original song will be used. Smh,” Sez wrote.
His full statement left everyone astonished and instantly made headlines. However, Sez then took to FB again to clarify his statement. He first thanked everyone for their support as he did not expect such a response. It’s an honour for him as an artist. “I also wanted to make something clear as there appears to be some confusion. The issue lies with the original label who have licensed out my composition on several occasions and have failed to pay me my due share every single time. Ankur Tewari and Excel Entertainment have done all they can to help me and I wanted to thank them for trying to get this all resolved,” he wrote.
