The much talked movie Pihu, that released this Friday has garnered mixed reviews from the critics and audience.
The movie has failed to create much impact at the box office on day 1, with a marginal hype and limited screen count. It earned the total collection of Rs: 45 Lakhs
However the makers of the movie seems very happy, the film is Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur & Shilpa Jindal and directed by Vinod Kapri, who has also won a National Award for his documentary Can’t Take This Shit Anymore.
The film is based on a true story, it entirely focuses on the child. It is all about a tragic incident, the two-year-old Pihu (Myra Vishwakarma) is trapped in an apartment all by herself.
She has very little food and water, as she’s also cut off from the world outside. Under such dire circumstances, Pihu has to survive and her day-long ordeal forms the crux of the story.
The thriller movie has been made at a very low budget, and also released on a selective number of screens.
A lot of buzz was created immediately after the release of its trailer.
This film promotion was also very unique it caught a lot of attention from people. They promoted the movie, like in which people received a random call from a number wherein a small child was heard wailing asking for help.
The call then gets cut abruptly and you receive a message with the link of the film’s trailer.
Taking about the competition on the other side, Mohalla Assi, which features prominent actors like Sunny Deol, Ravi Kisan, Sakshi Tanwar, Saurabh Shukla among others, received the negative reviews from critics. Hence, the day 1 box office collection of the movie remained disappointing.
