Sidharth Malhotra, who was last seen in Aiyaary, is gearing up for his next, Vikram Batra biopic, which is reportedly set to go on floors from April. For the film, the 34-year-old is learning the art of weaponry. The latest update on this project is that the film is all set to roll in Chandigarh. “Sid will start off shooting the college portions at DAV College where Vikram studied. From there the shoot will move to Palampur where the captain lived with his family,” a source informed. The movie is likely to be named Sher Shah, the title given to the officer in the intercepted messages of Pakistan army.
As per the report, major war portions will be shot in Kashmir and Leh Ladakh. Vishnuwardhan, who is helming this film, has completed the recce. And Sidharth will commence the training with real army men once he wraps up Marjaavaan. Not one but the SOTY actor will be seen in a double role in Vikram Batra’s biopic. He will be playing Vikram’s twin brother, Vishal for which he will be going in for a look change by the year-end.
Meanwhile, the makers are on a hunt to finalise the leading lady who will be playing the role of Vikram Batra’s girlfriend, Dimple Cheema. Interestingly, Dimple along with Vikrant’s family lend a helping hand to the makers for their research. Bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Shabbir Boxwala, the film is expected to release in the first half of 2020.
