The biopic on Balasaheb Thackeray aka Bal Thackeray titled Thackeray is all set to hit the screens tomorrow that is, January 25, 2019. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role and Amrita Rao as the female lead. The film is directed by Abhijit Panse and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures. Panse is also MNS leader and yesterday on the occasion of Bal Thackeray’s birth anniversary, a special screening of the film was held at a popular theatre in Mumbai.
Now as per reports, Abhijit left the screening yesterday without even watching the movie. The reports also suggest that the filmmaker looked disturbed and he even reached the venue late. Rumour has it, Abhijit and Sanjay Raut, who wrote the biopic had a heated argument at the venue. The online portal also revealed that Panse and his family were asked to occupy the first few rows and when the organisers were asked for better seats, they failed to give so.
When a Marathi channel asked Sanjay about the incident, he stated, “Abhijit Panse had some work because of which he was seen leaving the cinema hall.” MNS Chitrapat Sena president Ameya Khopkar tweeted about the incident by saying, “Abhijit, they behave like that. This is their culture. But the audience in Maharashtra is behind you.”
