Renowned YouTuber and TV host Sahil Khattar, who is known for his wittiness and a remarkable screen presence, will now be seen in Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83. The movie, which will trace the historic victory of the Indian cricket team in the 1983 world cup, will see Sahil playing the role of Syed Kirmani, who played cricket for India as a wicket keeper back then.
Syed Kirmani was a lower order batsman in the Indian cricket team in 1983. His unbroken 126 partnership for the ninth wicket with Kapil Dev (the captain of the team at that time) against Zimbabwe was one of the critical moments in the history of cricket.
Sahil started his journey as a Radio Jockey and has also hosted television shows such as Dance Indian Dance, Pro-wrestling league, and others. But he was catapulted to fame when he collaborated with Being Indian, a popular YouTube channel. He also has a YouTube channel of his own named Khattarnaak.
‘83 will be directed by Kabir Khan and will feature Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev in the film. The movie will be shot at real locations and will be going on floors early next year. It is slated for a 2020 release. So far, Punjabi star Ammy Virk has been cast in the film as Balwinder Singh Sandhu and South star Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth.
